Don´t be surprised to find dishes such as the Lamb & Mushroom Ragout or Native Pepper Berry cured Atlantic Salmon or even Wallaby Snags with Roasted Garlic Mash on the daily blackboard offering. Eucalypt´s blackboard offers more substantial meals for the discerning diner.

They are fully licensed and feature Tasmanian wine & beer. Takeaway gourmet rolls, cakes & cookies are also available. Also on offer are artworks, not only, by Richard Onn (resident artist and business owner), but many other talented local artists and include paintings, drawings, photography, jewellery & sculpture. You can also find unique Tasmanian gifts.

Originally from the Derwent Valley Richard and wife Jacqui moved to the Peninsula after 10 years roving around Australia with the RAAF and Westpac Bank respectively.

Neither have had any formal hospitality training however attribute their success with Eucalypt to knowing what they enjoy personally and how they like to be treated as customers.

Jacqui and Richard have complimentary skills with Richard responsible for art and design and, ensuring that the coffee, a critical success factor, is always superb! Jacqui on the other hand runs the operational aspects of the cafe from staffing, menu planning, accounting and she also does some of the cooking!

Richard & Jacqui have two boys, Izaac 6 and Angus who is 4.
